Alaroots Fakarava

Fakarava is located one hour by plane from Tahiti. It is an atoll, and life there is really very pleasant and laid back.
So please, don't bring your stress or your fast-paced life with you in your bags. Life is really very relaxed there. 

The stores carry only the bare minimum; there is no Carrefour, Decathlon, or Leroy Merlin. And store hours are very limited compared to other islands in Polynesia. Between noon and 3 p.m., the stores are closed.

How to get to Alaroots Fakarava? ​

The cheapest option is hitchhiking.
The most comfortable option is a red truck at Fakarava Airport. However, you cannot book in advance. The price is 1,000 F per person per trip (subject to change).
