Happiness is a subjective notion and can be influenced by many factors.

On our island, several elements contribute to the well-being and satisfaction of our residents:
1. Nature & the sea: our island is blessed with an extraordinary natural environment, with white sandy beaches, crystal-clear waters and a wealth of flora and fauna.
2. Relaxed lifestyle: life in the piles encourages a more relaxed lifestyle than in Tahiti. The islands are generally less urbanized and overwhelmed by capitalism, so the pace of life can be more peaceful.
3. Community and social ties: Polynesian society is often described as warm and welcoming. Family and community ties are important, and this can contribute to a sense of support and social connection.
4. Culture and Traditions: Polynesia has a rich and diverse culture, with dances, songs, rituals and celebrations that can bring great joy and a sense of belonging.
5. Pleasant climate: Polynesia's tropical climate, with mild temperatures all year round, can contribute to physical and mental well-being.
6. Access to Fresh, Local Food: Huahine has an abundance of fresh produce from fishing, local agriculture and the market. However, we also love junk food ;)
7. Outdoor activities: Polynesians often have access to a multitude of outdoor activities, such as surfing, diving, hiking and so on. These activities can contribute to an active and fulfilling life.
8. Appreciation of Simplicity: Many Polynesians have a simpler approach to life, emphasizing the essentials and appreciation of life's little pleasures.
It's important to note that despite these positive factors, there are also challenges and issues that can affect the well-being of Huahine's inhabitants. Each individual is unique and may have different sources of happiness.
